![]() | 1.1m³ golden hopper capacity. Longer working range per fill‑up, fewer frequent refills compared with 0.3m³ compact spreaders for higher winter de‑icing efficiency. Optimized total weight, perfectly fits most pickup trucks and light‑duty trucks, avoiding excessive weight of large‑volume spreaders. 2. Heavy‑duty polyethylene hopper. Excellent corrosion resistance against rock salt and de‑icing chemicals, anti‑cracking under freezing temperature. Smooth inner surface minimizes material residue, longer service life than metal hoppers in harsh winter conditions. 3. Balanced multi‑scene compatibility. Suitable for urban arterial roads, suburban highways, residential compounds, parking lots and narrow country roads. Handles large‑area spreading while avoiding access limitations of oversized spreaders. One unit covers multiple winter maintenance tasks. 4. Bolt‑on mounting without chassis modification. Quick hoisting removal in non‑winter seasons, so the carrier truck returns to normal cargo transport for higher equipment utilization rate. 5. Stepless adjustable spreading width & application rate. Real‑time adjustment for thin ice or heavy snow conditions. Works for rock salt, de‑icer, sand and salt‑sand mixtures. 6. V‑shaped hopper prevents material bridging. Stable material feeding, reduces block‑down caused by damp and caked de‑icing agent, reliable performance in cold‑humid regions. 7. Low‑center‑of‑gravity design. Better driving stability on icy & snowy roads for long‑distance winter patrol spreading. 8. Optional wired / wireless in‑cab controller. All spreading operations inside cabin, no outdoor manual work in freezing weather. 9. Easy maintenance. Smooth hopper interior for simple salt residue cleaning. General‑purpose wearing parts reduce overseas after‑sales cost. |
Project Location: Olds, Alberta, Canada, with a population of approximately 9,000.
Local Working Conditions: The snow season lasts from November to March of the following year. Night-time snowfall occurs frequently, with temperatures ranging from -10℃ to -25℃. The road network includes urban arterial roads, narrow residential alleys, school access roads, hospital parking lots and suburban rural highways. The local municipal authority adopts light-duty pickups for snow-removal operations. Large truck-mounted spreaders are too bulky to pass through numerous narrow lanes, while 0.3 m³ compact spreaders feature small hopper capacity and have to return to refilling stations for salt replenishment every few kilometres, resulting in low operating efficiency. The municipal government of this small town purchased 3 units of this 1 m³ spreader.
After an overnight snowfall, de-icing operations commence at 4:00 a.m. Filled with industrial de-icing salt, the 1 m³ hopper enables continuous operation covering 12-15 kilometres per unit. Unlike 0.3 m³ models which require returning to salt refilling stations every 3-4 kilometres, it substantially cuts transit time for round trips.
Operation Route Allocation: One unit is assigned to urban arterial roads with increased spreading width and material output. The other two units operate in narrow inner residential streets and surrounding roads of primary and secondary schools with reduced spreading width for precise salt distribution, avoiding salt waste and ensuring travel safety for residents and students.
Public Site Coverage: Salt-sand mixtures are spread on open-air hospital parking lots, town shopping-centre parking lots and bus terminals to melt thin ice and prevent vehicle skidding.
Pre-spreading operations are carried out ahead of cold-wave warnings. De-icing agents are pre-applied on suburban rural highways to prevent road-surface icing.
Highlights of Equipment Performance: The polyethylene hopper resists rust even under long-term exposure to highly corrosive industrial salt in winter. Given humid winter air that tends to cause salt caking, the V-shaped hopper structure mitigates material bridging and blockages, minimizing on-site breakdowns in field operations.
Upon the end of the snow season, municipal staff can directly hoist and remove the spreaders. The pickups resume regular cargo transportation. Each pickup supports both snow-removal tasks and daily municipal material transport, improving equipment utilization and avoiding additional vehicle-procurement costs.

Operation process of spreader controller:
![]() | Power on: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. Open the screen, display the control interface, and show real-time voltage. Turn on the power indicator light. When the power supply voltage is abnormal, the indicator light flashes. |
![]() | Vibration, pre wetting, warning lights, lighting: switch The above correspond to the four relay switches on the driver. Activate and deactivate through signal transmission commands. Feedback status information after normal opening or closing. The controller receives status information corresponding to the activation indicator light and screen display. The screen displays three states: 1 off, 2 on, and 3 abnormal. |
![]() | Conveyor belt and spreading motor: The above are controlled by two speed control knobs. The speed control knob has the same functions as vibration, lighting, etc. Rotating EC11 corresponds to an increase in PWM speed regulation in the clockwise direction. The speed regulation will have 50 gears. Corresponding to 50 level PWM speed regulation of the driver. The screen displays 10 levels from 1 to 10. When the motor experiences overcurrent, the driver receives an overcurrent signal. The driver shuts down the corresponding motor. Send abnormal motor commands to the controller. The corresponding prompt of the controller is abnormal. |
![]() | Overheating protection and emergency stop signal: When the driver receives an up signal, all functions are turned off. And provide feedback to the controller |
![]() | Controller box door open detection: The external emergency stop IO of the controller receives a low signal indicating that the box door is open. At this time, all motors are turned off, leaving only the warning lights and illumination lights unchanged. |
| Shutdown: Press and hold the power button for 1 second to turn off the device. The controller and driver enter low-power sleep mode. Short press the power button to turn off all functions. |
